James Crawford was born an artist and has always been surrounded by inspiration. Whether it be audio or visual, he has been observing and creating his whole life. As a child, he trained in piano and those lessons encouraged him to pick up and teach himself several instruments throughout his life. Music taught him how to express himself through art and it was all down (up) hill from there. He entered the film industry at age twenty-two and began creating short films with a talented group of young filmmakers. He is also a self-taught film photographer specializing in studio portraiture, still life and macrophotography to hiking miles into the wilderness with a backpack and tripod for landscape work. James uses 35mm SLRs to 4x5" large format view cameras to 11x14" graphic copy cameras to create his work. All negatives are developed, printed and toned in his custom-built darkroom.
